Field Technician or Shop Technician Position Available!

We are a family-run heavy equipment repair service in Iowa, dedicated to providing exceptional service to our customers. We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our team in the positions of Field Technician and Shop Technician.
Position Locations:
Onsite and Remote Field Service in Ames, Iowa
Schedule: Full-Time

Compensation:
We believe in rewarding hard work and expertise. Our compensation package includes competitive pay based on experience:
6+ years of experience: $37-$45 per hour
3+ years of experience: Starting from $24 per hour and up
Responsibilities:
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of heavy equipment, such as dozers, excavators, loaders, dump trucks, compactors, and material handling equipment. Depending on your role, your responsibilities may include:
Field Technician:
Diagnose and repair heavy equipment at customer sites.
Drive one of our service trucks to service specific geographical locations.
Communicate job progress and status to customers and supervisors.
Provide exceptional customer service in a timely manner.
Ensure your service vehicle is properly maintained.
Field Technician:
Work on equipment brought to our shop by customers.
Diagnose and repair heavy equipment efficiently and effectively.
Communicate with customers and supervisors regarding job progress.
Order necessary parts and manage customer records.
Provide excellent customer service and fulfill their needs promptly.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Utilize your expertise and attention to detail for quality repairs.
Access to specialty repair tools while bringing your basic hand tools.
Qualifications:
To thrive in our team, we are looking for individuals with the following qualifications:
3+ years of mechanical experience.
High School Diploma or GED. Some college courses preferred.
Strong knowledge of major components, including hydraulics, power train, electrical systems, etc.
Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one.
Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
General computer skills are highly desired.
Physical Demands:
Ability to view computer monitors and perform alpha/numeric keyboarding.
Capability to lift up to 25-50 pounds.
Comfortable with standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, walking, and reaching for extended periods.
Work environment may have moderate to loud noise levels.
Work both indoors and outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions.

Currently, we are seeking a full-time Parts Representative to service our parts counter. This candidate must be proficient with computer and Excel programs. Familiar with reading parts books and placing orders. Mechanical knowledge of construction equipment is preferred with a helpful and friendly attitude to help assist customers in getting the parts they need.
Job Responsibilities & Hours:
Monday - Friday: 8 am - 4:30 pm
Assist customers in need of parts in a knowledgeable and friendly manner
Check inventory and availability of parts
Utilize parts manuals and online resources to find solutions for customers
Create quotes and process parts orders
Create invoices and manage customer relations
Assist with online parts inquiries and orders
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Great customer service skills
Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel
Ability to multitask while fulfilling time-sensitive orders
1+ year experience within a similar industry for parts and/or knowledge of material handling, construction or ag equipment (Preferred)
